Cirera de Vilalba

Cirera de Vilalba is a family project devoted to the cultivation and sale of mountain cherries in Vilalba dels Arcs, in the Terra Alta region.

Driven by Marcel Domènech as a young farmer at the head of the family business, and with the help of his parents, we manage 10 hectares of cherry trees on estates strategically located to make the most of the sunlight and to shield the trees from adverse winds.

Our passion for agriculture has led us to offer a product of the highest quality, which we cultivate at an altitude of 450 metres above sea level. This environment provides us with privileged climatic conditions, with cold hours in winter and warm, dry summers, which allow us to produce cherries with a distinctive colour and flavour.

Our fields are terraced and have fertile soil with an ideal balance of nutrients for the development of the cherries. It is precisely this slower development of the fruit that allows our cherries to be sweeter.

We also produce macerated cherry liqueur and fermented cherry liqueur.

AGROTOURISM VISITS:

With our guided agrotourism visits, designed for all ages, we invite you to enjoy a rural tourism getaway where you can discover the secrets of cherry cultivation, the importance of pollination during the flowering period, and the harvesting process, which we carry out manually when the fruit has reached its optimal ripeness on the tree, in order to prevent damage during handling and packaging.

– Guided visits during cherry-tree flowering with liqueur tasting (month of March). Duration: 2 hours.

– Guided visits during the harvesting season with cherry-liqueur tasting (May and June). Duration: 2 hours.

– Guided visits on weekends and public holidays, showing the entire process of cherry-tree cultivation and the production of cherry liqueurs (all year round). Duration: 2 hours.
