LO MASET DE CARMETA

Lo Maset de Carmeta is a small farmhouse built in the 1940s, in the middle of the market garden area of l’Assut, very close to the Coll de Som, right beside the road that goes from Tivenys to Benifallet, or, if you prefer, from Tortosa to Móra.

Originally, the small farmhouse had only two rooms: one with the kitchen, the hearth on the floor, and the cistern, and the other used as the family bedroom. Right next to the farmhouse was the animal pen. A few years later, an upper floor was built to enlarge the dwelling with more rooms.

A few years ago, the owners restored the farmhouse while preserving the external stone walls, the beams, the roof, and the cistern. In addition, they joined the outbuilding of the pens to the dwelling, where they created a very cosy living–dining room, and they equipped the accommodation with all the comforts so that you can feel as if you were in your own home.

Lo Maset has two bedrooms decorated in a rustic style, named after the mountains toward which their windows face: Coll de Som and Mont Caro, respectively.

A large garden surrounds the house, with almost century-old trees coexisting with others planted more recently, with a fence that separates the property of Lo Maset de Carmeta from the neighbouring cultivated land.
