La Farraja de Cal Farrés

Cal Farrés is located in the small rural hamlet of Aleny (24 inhabitants), on top of a hill, in the centre of Catalonia.

The house of La Farraja is a rural accommodation at garden level; it is spacious and entirely on a single floor, with a capacity for 6 people and is also accessible for people with disabilities.

It has 3 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a large living room with dining room and kitchen.

It is an ideal house for a stay with friends or with family.

In addition, you can enjoy all the facilities: garden, barbecue, games room with billiards and table tennis, and of course the swimming pool, which is in a second large garden very close to the house.

If you are a large group, you can rent both houses of Cal Farrés together: Les Corts and La Farraja.

The history of our family goes back a long way; the first written records date from the 11th century, when a castle was erected here, of which vestiges can still be found inside the current ancestral house of Cal Farrés. Since then, these stones have witnessed how new buildings—and ultimately the village—arose around them, and how its people adapted to the circumstances and needs of each moment. In this same way, making use of old buildings and livestock outbuildings of Cal Farrés, we have fitted out the rural houses of La Farraja and Les Corts.

In their restoration, we have sought to respect traditional architecture as much as possible, looking for a balance between a rustic atmosphere and, at the same time, a comfortable and functional space in which to welcome you and share with all of you these stones, walls and vaults that our ancestors left to us.

If you look around you, you will find a landscape shaped by farmers, the fields different in each season; there are paths and tracks that lead us calmly from one place to another, whether on a bicycle ride or on foot. Every corner is a new landscape, every time of year has its own smells and colours. We want to share with you these hills we love; we are sure that they will welcome you and that you will feel as close to the land as we do.
