Soler de n'Hug

El Soler de n’Hug is a family farm located in Prats de Lluçanès, dedicated to both agriculture and livestock farming. We grow forage and cereals in our fields to feed our animals. We raise a flock of 800 meat sheep, milk around 60 dairy cows, and have 35 sows along with the fattening of pigs. All our animals live their entire lives on our farm.

We strive for self-sufficiency, and we have solar panels that supply around 35% of our electricity needs. We also operate a small-scale, local slaughterhouse for sheep and goats. We’ve closed the circle by selling our own products at Taulell del Soler, our farm shop located in the village of Prats de Lluçanès.

At El Soler de n’Hug, we raise cows, sheep, and pigs that we care for throughout their lives. Their lives are sustained mainly with feed from our own fields. This is what’s known as a “closed loop” system — from the land to the table. Of course, we fully comply with animal welfare standards and regulations — not just by obligation, but also by conviction.

"Àvia Pili" taught us to welcome everyone with open arms. That’s why, at El Soler de n’Hug, we love opening our doors to show our day-to-day life: the work we do, how we care for the animals, and how we plan the farm and field tasks. We enjoy sharing a good moment, ending the visit with a tasting of our farm’s products.

We offer visits for families, groups, and schools.

We also organize more technical visits for professional associations, universities, or vocational schools, focusing on agricultural and livestock-related topics.

Finally, we have a Rural Environment Classroom, a space for workshops, activities, tailor-made networking or team-building sessions, and tastings of our products.
